Fahoo Fores, Dahoo Dores Welcome Christmas, Christmas day

St. Nick brought our son Charlie his copy of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” more than 20 years ago and, though the pages no longer attach to the spine and at least one of them sports an undignified glob of dried egg nog, the book has maintained a place of pride in our stack of holiday books.

We love the Whos with their spunky optimism, contagious (though somewhat disturbingly toothless) grins, proud spiky hair and determined eschewal of Christmas commercialism.

So, when Molly and her Godfather Steve settled on the Dr. Suess classic for their annual family Christmas play, we knew we had a winner.

Our audience skyped in from coast-to-coast and key cast members included our matriarch Grandma Mary Jane in the pivotal role as Cindy-Lou Who. Our nephew Ben, a six-year old card shark and the youngest of 13 cousins, played an excellent Max the dog, and our host and co-producer Steve rocked his clearly not typecast role as the Grinch…and then he, he himself, carved the roast beast.

Enjoy these photos from the performance and we hope the Who spirit of  community joy finds you today and lasts long after the last goofy note of their cheerful Christmas song fades.
