First Harvest

We were somewhat surprised to find a real live cucumber growing in our garden.

We planted turnips and they just kept growing.

We harvested our first vegetable since the bumper crop of turnips that scared us back in 2009. Back then we learned that turnips will grow anywhere…and that we really, really don’t like turnips. This year we planted strawberries, cucumbers, basil, tomatoes and potatoes. Today, we were thrilled to harvest a cucumber. Yep, just one prickly cucumber. We’re optimistic , though, and a little garden challenged.

like this before. So great to discover somebody with
a few original thoughts on this subject matter. Seriously..
thanks for starting this up. This site is one thing that’s needed on the web, someone with some originality!
